Catello Gallotti

He is a pianist and choir conductor.

As a music analyst, his main research interests include the theory of harmony, Schenkerian analysis, and classical form.

He was on the Editorial Board of ‘Analitica – Online Journal of Music Studies’ and currently is a member of the Editorial Team of ‘Music Scholarship. Russian Journal of Academic Studies’ as well as adviser for the music series ‘Musica e Scienze’ (Universitalia Editrice).

He is a member of the Scientific Committee and vice-chair of the Executive Board of the Italian Gruppo Analisi e Teoria Musicale (GATM), an association that aims to promote and diffuse new analytical and theoretical knowledge in the field of music in Italy.

Additionally, he was on the Scientific Committee of the 8th European Music Analysis Conference (EuroMAC8) as a GATM representative.

He is a professor of Theory of Harmony and Music Analysis at the 'G. Martucci' Conservatoire of Salerno, were was chair of the Department of Music Theory, Analysis and Composition.
