Born in Salerno in 1958, he studied at the ‘Santa Cecilia’ Conservatoire in Rome under Franco Petracchi and Federico Rossi.

With regards to his jazz education, he was trained at the ‘Saint Louis’ School in Rome through seminars and workshops held by Riccardo Del Fra, Palle Danielson, Bruno Tommaso, and Enrico Pieranunzi.

He has collaborated with, amongst others, Eivind Aarset, Gary Bartz, Stefano Battaglia, Gianni Basso, George Benson, Flavio Boltro, Stefano Bollani, Fabrizio Bosso, Lester Bowie, Giulio Capiozzo, George Cables, Philippe Catherine, Eddie Daniels, Buddy De Franco, Irio De Paula, Peter Erskine, Antonio Faraò, Claudio Fasoli, Bruce Forman, Paolo Fresu, Roberto Gatto, Maurizio Giammarco, Rosario Giuliani, Javier Girotto, Benny Golson, Miles Griffith, Tom Harrell, Michele Hendricks, Pat La Barbera, Kirk Lightsey, Arto Lindsay, Joe Lovano, Joe Magnarelli, Rita Marcotulli, Virginia Mayhew, Helen Merrill, Shawn Monteiro, Roscoe Mitchell, Dado Moroni, Bob Mover, Don Moye, Maria Neckham, Judy Niemack, Walter Norris, Jimmy Owens, Enrico Pierannunzi, Dave Sanborn, Jim Snidero, Valery Ponomarev, Enrico Rava, Vanessa Rubin, Tony Scott, Baba Sissoko, Solis String Quartet, Gary Smulian, Peggy Stern, Lew Tabackin, Chihiro Yamanaka, Adrienne West, Larry Willis, and Eliot Zigmund.

In 2010 and 2011 he was mentioned as among the best bass players in the Italian magazine ‘Musica Jazz’.

His discography as a leader includes: ‘Do it’, Ariston, Milan, 1990; ‘Napolitanìa’; ‘Wide Sound’, Nepezzano (TE), 2002.

His discography as a co-leader includes: Trio di Salerno, ‘Cantabile’; ‘Via Veneto Jazz’, Rome, 2008; Trio di Salerno, ‘Luna nuova’, Itinera, 2010; ‘Jazzit’, Top 100 album of the year, 2011, and recommended album in ‘Musica Jazz’ magazine; ‘Back to Smile’, Zurzolo, Pieranunzi, Moye, Vigorito, and Capone, Itinera, 2008; ‘About a Silent Way’, Aarset, Bosso, Bearzatti, Martux-M, and Vigorito, Itinera, 2009; Top 5 CD of the year, 2010 (Musica Jazz magazine).

He has collaborated, amongst others, with Daniele Sepe, Carla Marciano, Baba Sissoko, Roscoe Mitchell, Don Moye, Enrico Pieranunzi, Marco Zurzolo, Pino Jodice, Emanuele Cisi, Francesco Nastro, and Francesco D'Errico, with whom he has recorded more than 50 works.

He teaches Jazz Ensemble at the ‘Giuseppe Martucci’ Conservatoire in Salerno.
