In 1990 he graduated with full marks in Clarinet performance from the 'G. Martucci' Conservatoire, Salerno.
In the same year, he participated in the ISMEZ selection as best graduate of the year.
He has performed as a soloist the concertos by C.M. von Weber Op.74, S. Mercadante, and F. Krommer Op.35.
He has also performed with many chamber ensembles from duos with pianists to large ensembles.
He has played with the Orchestra of the Cagliari Opera House, the Orchestra of the Cagliari Conservatoire – with which he has recorded the opera Il Campanello by Donizetti (Bongiovanni Label) – the Reggio Calabria Conservatoire, as well as numerous other local ensembles.
His repertoire also includes important quintets by Brahms, Op. 114, and Spohr, Op. 81, which he performed with the String Quartet of The San Carlo Opera House of Naples.
A versatile player, he regularly performs a significant amount of contemporary music having mastered all the extended techniques which include circular breathing.
He taught clarinet performance at the middle school level from 1991 to 1995, and at the ‘Bartolo Longo’ Institute of Pompei, in the Province of Naples.
He formally obtained eligibility to teach in the Italian Conservatoire system in 1995 when he was awarded the post of Professor of Clarinet at the ‘G. Martucci’ Conservatoire of Salerno.
He has also researched the clarinet from a historical perspective for several years and, currently, spends part of his work schedule to this activity.
He has delivered specialised lecture-recitals on the history of the clarinet at the Conservatoires of Salerno and Latina, performing the complete sonatas by J. X. Lefévre.
