Finalist and best pianist at the Gaudeamus Interpreters Competition Rotterdam (1994) and Kranichsteiner Musikpreis at the Internationale Ferienkurse Darmstadt the same year, Ciro Longobardi has performed for Traiettorie Festival Parma, Milano Musica, Ravenna Festival, Rai Nuova Musica Turin, Angelica International Festival Bologna, Tempo Reale Florence, Venice Biennale, Saarländischer Rundfunk Saarbrücken, Ferienkurse Darmstadt, Festival Synthése Bourges, Gaudeamus Foundation Amsterdam, ZKM Karlsruhe, Unerhoerte Musik Berlin, INA GRM Paris, Guggenheim Museum New York, and Salzburg Festival.
He has recorded for Stradivarius, Limen, Mode, RaiTrade, and Die Schachtel.
He has been awarded numerous prices, such as the Coup de Coeur de Radio France (September 2011), a special critics’ award for the best Italian instrumental CD (2011), CD of the month (October 2012), and the Prize of the Disc awarded by Amadeus magazine (August 2013).
He delivered lecture-concerts and masterclasses for the Rotterdam, Ghent, Bruxelles, and Alicante Conservatories, the Hochschule Basel, the University of Chicago, and the Manhattan School of Music, New York.
Between 2012 and 2014 he held the position of piano teacher for the Master’s of Advanced Studies in Contemporary Music Performance at the Italian-Swiss Conservatoire in Lugano.
He is a founding member of the Dissonanzen group, Naples.
